New research positions open for application
Six new research positions in macroecology, ornithology, and genomics have been published at the Villum Center for Global Mountain Biodiversity. Application deadline 31 July 2025.

We open six positions to join the Center for Global Mountain Biodiversity, a Villum Center of Excellence. The Center currently comprises 20 scientific staff, technicians and students. The Center is housed within the Center for Macroecology, Evolution and Climate.
We strive to understand how mountains contribute to shaping the diversity and distribution of life on Earth, particularly the extraordinary biodiversity of tropical mountains. Our research combines natural history knowledge and rigorous field work in all corners of the world with an assemblage of genomic data and databases of species distributions and traits rigorously assembled from primary sources. We work with novel macroecological process-based and null models, powerful bioinformatics tools, and robust statistics to enable a truly holistic approach for addressing fundamental questions about the distribution and magnitude of life on Earth.
We prioritize teamwork and close collaboration—both within the Center and across our global research network. Our group culture is supportive, inclusive, and driven by mutual respect, where diverse skills and experiences are valued. We are committed to fostering not only scientific excellence, but also professional growth and career development at every stage.
