The Little Owl Project

The aim of the Danish little owl project is to investigate the causes of the decline in the Danish little owl population. The species is declining over most of its Northwest European range, but little is known about the factors causing the decline. We will use radio telemetry and registrations of breeding success to link population parameters as fecundity and survival to habitat and nest availability, climate and other relevant factors. The project is funded by the Villum Kann Rasmussen Foundation and runs in the period 2005-2007.
