Atlas of Woody Plants in China: Distribution and Climate

Dr. Zhiheng Wang, a postdoctoral researcher in the Center for Macroecology, Evolution and Climate (CMEC), has recently won the Chinese Government Award for Publishing for his coauthored book entitled "Atlas of Woody Plants in China: Distribution and Climate". This book describes for the first time the distribution and climate niche for all 11,405 woody species in China, which provides crucial dataset for ecological studies and biodiversity conservation. This prestigious award is announced every three years in China, recognizing the 60 best books of all categories (17 of natural sciences and technology). Dr. Wang is currently working with Dr. Carsten Rahbek on large-scale patterns of species diversity and its responses to climate change.
